9-2-20 THOUGHTS

As you enter our house, my sweet wife keeps a bible verse on an old slate chalkboard.  Ps 32:7 has greeted me for some time now.  The word SURROUND is interesting.

Ps 32:7-11    You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah. 8  I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you. 9  Do not be as the horse or as the mule which have no understanding, Whose trappings include bit and bridle to hold them in check, Otherwise they will not come near to you. 10  Many are the sorrows of the wicked, But he who trusts in the LORD, lovingkindness shall surround him. 11  Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous ones; And shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.
Ps 31:20  You hide them in
the secret place of Your presence from the conspiracies of man; You keep them secretly in a shelter from the strife of tongues.

The King of Aram was warring against Israel.  God used Elisha to thwart all his efforts by giving the prophet Elisha all of his plans.  The hunt for Elisha was on!
2Kings 6:13-17     So he said, "Go and see where he is, that I may send and take him." And it was told him, saying, "Behold, he is in Dothan." 14  He sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city. 15  Now when the attendant of the man of God had risen early and gone out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was circling the city. And his servant said to him, "Alas, my master! What shall we do?" 16  So he answered,
"Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them."  17  Then Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." And the LORD opened the servant’s eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
Ps 125:2  As the mountains surround [ are round about   KJV] Jerusalem,
So the LORD surrounds His people From this time forth and forever.       [song...]
Heb 12:1  Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
Col 3:3   For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
1Cor 3:21-23     So then let no one boast in men. For all things belong to you, 22  whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come; all things belong to you, 23  and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God.
Rom 8:31   What then shall we say to these things?
If God [is] for us, who [is] against us?
Read the rest of Romans 8!

My Prayer:
Hallelujah praise Jehovah.  Thank you for surrounding us as your people.  Be our strength in this time of need.  Give us clarity of vision to see that they that be with us are more than they that be with this world.  May we always know that Christ has overcome the world.
We ever pray in His name                Amen
